Nice new RV Park - kind of a long ways out from the usual Breaux Bridge activity, but lovely sites, full hookups, and, with Passport America, only $15/night!
On our first day here, we drove to Lafayette, where I had a doctor appointment for the annual boob check. We stopped for lunch at the Cafeteria that is featured in James Lee Burke's novels which feature David Robichaud. Fun little joint.

We awoke in the Walmart parking lot at what we thought was about 7:00 but later realized that we had crossed into another time zone and it was really only 6:00. We were not sure of the parking situation so we pulled off the Interstate early to a Walmart where we disconnected and drove over. It worked out rather well. An hour ...

Angelina accidentally ran over a huge pot hole. Our tires were destroyed! I called AAA and they sent out a tow truck. It's about 12 p.m. and I'm sitting in a local auto shop getting two new tires. Only $70...

Our last full day of vacation. Still sick but I won't let that get me down.

Following a leisurely morning, we headed out with the idea of exploring Lafayette: the center of Cajun country. Our goal was Vermillionville, a re-creation of an old Acadian Village that had demonstrations and live music, etc. On the Vermillionville website and in my guidebook it says nothing about it being a National Park but, as we get closer, I saw a ...
