12 August The other day, while we were sitting on the beach, we watched a group of blokes build a platform out of scaffolding pipe and clamps. We had no idea what they were doing and were even more bemused when they picked it up (there was about twenty of them by this stage) and carried it into the water. Watching them position and adjust it in the water was great sport. Not sure how many OH&S rules were ignored as they picked it up jiggled ...

... of Cefalu worth mentioning is the beach just down the road. Tourist town means clean town in Sicily and that extends as far as the beach. We found the little space left between all the sun lounges for those of us too stingy to pay to go to the beach, laid out our towels and had a great swim. ... and pasta with an eggplant sauce. Mains of pork sausages, veal roast and potatoes, with dessert of fresh fruit and cannoli. No dinner for us at night!
After lunch we drove back to Palermo port to board the ferry for Naples. Cabins were quite nice albeit small. We were the last couple with one other to get our key. But when we got it, it didn't match with our ticket, but the man said it was ok. He was ...

As we left Pettralia Sottana, we got a great view of the town. We drove through gently sloping hills and pastures on to Polizzi Generosa where the small houses huddle on the mountain. A short way on we reached our destination, the beginning of Walk 21: Vallone Madonna Degli Angeli from our Sunflower Sicily guide, which is 5 miles and should take ...
