December 5. The day after arriving in Monterey I flew N788W VFR direct to Merced, California (KMCE), a short flight of about 70 nm. TDL Aero in Merced specializes in auxiliary (ferry) tank installations among other things. In preparation for this flight last June, they removed the rear and co-pilot seats in my plane and installed the main ferry tank. Once again our aisle-window reservation gambit paid off: the middle seat was ecstatically vacant. We populated that seat with the best of Britain: a bloomer loaf, west country cheddar, salt and pepper crisps, Digestive Biscuits, and Bramley apples. It was a 10-hour picnic.

... over caught it. He was a Mariners fan and all the other fans around him wanted him to throw it back. He didn't though and I got a picture of him holding it. We lost though so that stinks. Hopefully they win the rest of the series since we aren't going to be there. We might be bad luck since they lost the two games that we went to in Phoenix too. We had a week left before we would leave to come back home to Seattle, so we convinced my mom to come down and visit us in Costa Rica. She arrived on Tuesday and Dave picked her up from the airport. The girls were pretty excited to see her. We had a great time with her that week, we went to an animal rescue sanctuary where we saw a baby sloth, ocelot, pecary and many other animals that were rescued.
