We finally got here after here after quite the journey. We started off late, but managed to reach our gate just as they started boarding. Zach was surprised we had 1st class seats and I convinced him it was just for the first part of the trip. It was pretty luxurious and it makes you never ever want to fly economy again. We were rather fond of the free drinks!

We landed a little early and took a few minutes to chill in the Red Carpet ...

... at least 5 different tram numbers - and none of them being the two I was expecting. Hmmm. After rather a lot of faf, we ended up on one, going in the right direction. Next obstacle - tickets need to be validated on the tram in a small orange box - eventually I worked out which way the ticket went in! We spent one night in hotel Duc de Bourgogne, fortunately, we came here in the low season. Sinnce the room at this hotel ...

We circled the block where the bar was marked on the map but we couldn't find it so ...

As we had plenty of time, we travelled via Dunkerque (Dunkirk) in France on the English Channel, the scene of the mass evacuation of the British forces in WWII - you just can't get away from the war history over here!!!
Today, Dunkerque is large port city and holiday destination with its long stretch of beach and promenade, more in keeping to an earlier era of holiday makers!
