The long day of driving included several encounters with slowed traffic and construction. We finally arrived in Gettysburg. We decided to drive through town to see what eating establishments were still open - trying to avoid the quick burger & fries menu. We ended up in the park and decided to go see the Eternal Flame. We'll be visiting the site again tomorrow, but wanted to get some pictures of the flame in the twilight / dusk. ...

... had showers and then wandered down the roads looking for restaurants to eat at for dinner. We ate at a brasserie 2 miles away, it was delicious and the waitress had a great sense of humour! XD We came home and jumped into bed and slept.. Ready to begin again the next day, I have to go! Later Gators! LJ ...

... discounted 'bike week' t-shirts at a t-shirt shop on the 'circle' in the middle of town so it ain't all bad!

also had lunch while there at a place right on the circle called 'the pub.' (really wanted to go to a place called 'the blue & the gray' -- for obvious reasons -- but it was closed)

stopped by battlefield harley on our way outta town .....

... He drove us around York, Columbia and Red Lion, PA checking the beautiful scenery. So green, beautiful tall trees all with different colour leaves. What a pretty part of the world.
We had dinner at Amy's mum, June's place. Atlantic Salmon, baby spinach, tomato, couscous, red onion, yumm. Then lemon torte dessert. Amy's dad was in hospital having a procedure for his back pain, so haven't met him ...

Rolled through beautiful Lancaster County, PA today across the Susquehanna River and into York, my home town! Met up with Jotham Hobbs in front of his Mom's house where TJ had another dog to play with and a fenced in back yard, plus I had some electricity. I was anxious to tackle some hills I had known as a kid on the bike, so we rode out through Wyndham Hills to the "Top of the World", a site that used to be the make out spot in York before the York Water Company ...
