    ... to the airport.

Got a few last pics of Venice before leaving the island.

Venice's Marco Polo airport is small. We arrived at the airport at 11am, the flight leaves for Dusseldorf at 2:25. The security line is very long but we can't go thru yet as we need to check in first, but it's too early for that.

We headed off from Assisi to the magic City of Venice. The morning was spent leisurely watching the beautiful countryside flash bye. We reached our hotel in the suburbs of Venice by 2:00pm and by 3:00pm we were off again to experience some Venetian Magic and magic it truly was.

Our driver dropped us at the wharf where the water taxis were waiting to take us down the ...

... this huge cruise ship sailed past in its outward journey – an awesome sight!

We found our way back (lucky I had a map) and had tea at a pizzeria on the side of the Grand Canal – it was magic watching the boats go past while the sun was setting and having a good Italian pizza!!

Exciting day tomorrow – we join the cruise ship "Splendour of the ...
