This morning Alex and I enjoyed a sleep in and relaxing morning as we sailed toward Venice. We were treated to wonderful views of the city again as we made our way to the port. Once we had docked Alex and I caught the vaporetto (public water bus) into St Mark's Square. We walked around some familiar streets and had a delicious pasta lunch at a cafe in a little square (although we had to wait about 45 minutes to get the bill!) The one ...

... spaghetti, sea bass, tuna (ah, I still have dreams about that tuna), and more. Dishes like we all had never imagined in the perfect portion and spaced elegantly apart. Three hours later we left. We were full, but not stuffed.

The train was easy enough to make the next morning. We were all seriously thinking about having lunch at L'Anice Stellato before heading to Bologna, but decided against ...

      Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Boats?

... our destination in the middle of this beautiful, wet city. Planes, trains, automobiles, and boats takes on a whole new meaning. But it's all part of the study abroad experience I suppose.

Once we checked into our hotel, we found out we had to share a bed (which ended up being to Courtney's detriment...I will explain later). That didn't seem to be a problem, we were exhausted, it was a big bed, and we were exhausted. ...
