We began walking back to the hotel and were greeted by a few alley ways full of water, so we would keep going, making more wrong turns but eventually making our trip back to the hotel way longer than it needed to be.       ... we struggled, carrying the cases up, over and down the other side of the road. Roisin has already decided we would not be repeating this route in reverse tomorrow morning to catch the bus to Marco Polo airport. Regardless of cost, and against my principles we were taking a taxi!!

      We woke up early this morning so we could watch the entrance into Venice. It was magical. Felt like we were just floating silently through the canal into the city. Venice truly is a unique city. Traffic was busy, even at 7:30 on a Sunday morning, boats of every size and shape were darting around all over the place.
