My second day in Cassville Missouri. I woke up with a terrible head cold and the onset of laryngitis. Stayed in bed until about 9:30. Finally dragged myself out of bed and got on the bike as the weather was fantastic. Stopped by the Pharmacy for some meds to help the cold and then went on a 6.75 ...

It was a beautiful drive from Wichita to Cassvile. A clear blue sky and very little traffic. I pulled in to Cassville around 4:30 this afternoon. Marc dropped by with 3 of the grandkids while I was getting set up and we decided on pizza for dinner tonight.

I hope to later have an opportunity to take pictures from around town so that y'all can see a little bit of where we live.
We love and are praying for you all.
Grace and Peace in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen!
Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you. In my unloveliness I plunged into the lovely things which you created. You were with me, but I was not with you. Created things kept me from you; yet if they had not been in you the would not have been at all. ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Arsenic and Old Lace Bed and Breakfast Inn Eureka Springs
Best B&B in Eureka!
My husband and I recently visited the Arsenic and Old Lace B&B for the first time. It was our first trip to Eureka and I must say we were blessed with finding what we feel is the "BEST" B&B in Eureka. The owners, Doug & Beverly, were very warm and hospitable and saw to your every need. The B&B is just the right size with 5 rooms, each having their own special charm. It is a beautiful victorian style home with a wrap-around porch where you can sit and enjoy your evening or morning coffee. It is located on the hillside within walking distance from the trolley and minutes from the main town where many of the shops and restaurants are located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this "special find".

My wife, Peggy, had never been to a bed and breakfast inn before and was really looking forward to our visit to this place. I had spent a night in one once during a bus tour with a church group a few years ago.
Beautiful view and peaceful surroundings.
Excellent host and beautiful view from our balcony. The statue of Christ with out-stretched arms was just across the valley. The room was very nice and very well maintained. My wife and I are 65 years old and we felt that our stay was very romantic. You can be sure we will be there again next year. I am sure all of the rooms are excellent but we now have unforgettable memories of our stay and will be requesting the same room.
Greg and I were married @ Judge Roy Beans on 9/16/04 @ 3:30 pm soooo much fun. We stayed @ Arsenic & Old Lace B&B in Eureka Springs on our wedding day and honeymoon. Our hosts Doug and Beverly were so friendly, they made us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent, we had snacks all day and night (just like home). We woke up well rested, hearing nature around us as we sat on our balcony. We will be back next year to relax and have fun again.
Very relaxing and enjoyable stay
My husband and I have stayed at Arsenic & Old Lace B&B in Eureka Springs and had a fabulous visit. The Inn is beautiful and in the perfect spot in Eureka Springs. Close enough to walk to downtown, yet you feel like you are away from the world. Sitting on the lovely front porch and having a glass of wine was wonderful - we felt totally stress free !! The new innkeepers were great and we felt very welcome. We have stayed at many B&B's in Eureka Springs and other parts of the country and we feel this B&B is one of the best !!
My wife and I recentlyvisited this establishment as a Valentine's/Anniversary retreat and found the experience to be ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!! The owners went above & beyond the call to make us feel at home and were very helpful in giving us information about local attractions & directions. The atmosphere and surroundings were impeccable and allowed 6 months of job & parenting stress to melt away in a matter of hours. The home is absolutely beautiful and a more romantic setting could not be found. Finally, the breakfast was as good or better than any that I have had at resort restaurants throughout the south. Simply stated, we could not have asked for more or been more pleased with any portion of our stay. Words cannot express our delight or our thanks to the owners for a fantastic B&B experience.
I recently stayed here for a night and had a good time. The B& B is very clean, nicely decorated, nice location, sweet Inn Keepers and great food. I also have to say that I kinda felt like a kid back at Mom and Dads where they want you to have fun, but with a few rules. It's true a tour is done and it's done nicely but it still comes across as rules. I didn't feel uncomfortable just not at as ease as one should when staying at a B & B. We would often drop our voices , we didn't want to be to loud. We didn't visit alot with Inn Keepers and that is a shame. I love to meet new people. If you want a nice , clean place and can live with a few rules this would work for you. I've stayed at other B& B's and have never been made to feel like there were rules to live by. My suggestion to Inn Keepers "I understand it's your home and you want it to remain nice but approach the do's and don'ts in a different way and all your clients would just love the place.
Arsenic and old Lace is a Beautiful Victorian Home. With the most anal retentive owners one could wish to encounter. The trip started with a lovely but instructional tour of the hotel, where we were promptly instructed to read ...ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS!! We were most offended and very uncomfortable when entering the main house. We watched one of the sweatest couples we had ever met offended and run off. They were very irate to say the least. The innkeepers then tried to involve us by EXPLAINING WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. When I informed them I did not want to be involved and that I was here to get married and relax ( which was less than 2 hours away ) they continued on anyway. We were treated like children everytime we entered the house. We didn't feel comfortable enough to even go to breakfast, which is supposed to be part of the whole experience. Beautiful home, owners need to realize that they are operating a business designed for the confort and enjoyment of their guests. At no time did we feel welcome in the home and our needs and comforts were certainly not a consideration. Homeowners were very concerned that I may drip some creamer on their tile countertops.
