... the best. When we pulled into Breclav, we were relieved but then realized we only had four minutes to change trains and how to get over to the other track. We finally found the staircase/ tunnel that runs under the track and managed to heave the luggage down one flight of stairs, up the other side and onto the train. And we made it on time with at least two minutes to spare.

Supper tonight was really good - a couple of people had pig's knuckles which tasted divine (I had pasta with chargrilled veg and supposedly spicy sausage but couldn't taste it at all...am suspicious they didn't include it). Up early tomorrow so am off to bed (rather than going drinking).

Apparently it was the largest ever castle in Central Europe but was abandoned, blown up and generally fell into disrepair. ... one night here and Olomauc really is a gem. This morning we walked to St Wenceslas Cathedral, Our Lady of the Snows church- stencilled columns & Rococco decorations.There seemed to be a farmers market but was a rally of cars from the 1920s with the owners dressed the part with a band singing jazz numbers. Huge fun!! We are currently on the train to Budapest so more later. ...
