... to Glen Nevis, where we went for a walk and saw a beautiful waterfall. Back on the bus and to lunch, where i had a yummy plate of Haggis, Neeps (Parsnips) and Tatties (Potatoes).

Until this time the weather had been pretty good to us - you might even see some blue sky in the photos. But by the end of lunch the rain had set in. We made a quick pit stop to climb a muddy hill so we could see the Harry Potter bridge (second movie, when Harry and Ron are in the flying car ...

... slipped, she flew off and banged up her face, losing an eye - her beauty lost forever. The other clan was enraged by this, thinking it was an insult from the first clan, so they removed the eyes from the horse, the brides servant, even a poor little doggy who was along for the ride and sent it back to the brides clan - who were of course offended too and war again ensued. Mortified by this, the ugly one eyed bride went to the river and cried her eye out - when upon her came the ...

Onto the bus we got, and before long we were all the stome pretty waterfalls set in beautiful forest which are all the colours of the rainbow at the moment. At the falls is minigolf, an adventure playground and a mini harrods in the tea house, complete with wax Mohammed Al-Fayed! Random

Day 10 - 93 miles in the BMW

... Augustus from Inverness I intended to go the quieter route on the north shore, but somehow coming out of Inverness I must have taken the wrong turning as I ended on the busier south shore route. I guess I will just have to go back that way tomorrow.

Got over to Fort Augustus at around 15:00 today, booked into an independent hostel Morags Lodge ...

Day 4 - 0 miles in the LR / 4406 feet up/down

This is the first day that I have set an alarm. Big day today, off to climb the highest mountain in the Scotland (and the UK), Ben Nevis at 4406 feet. Up at 6:30 so that I can get showered and get to
breakfast for 7:00.

We set off at 8:30 and head towards the visitors centre, the climb from here is a little bit of an easier start than from the YHA (and the bridge was closed for repair). The weather ...

Day 3 - 231 miles in the LR / 7 miles on foot

I've made it to Fort William, checked into the SYHA Glen Nevis and decided to go for a walk in to town to get some dinner. Little did I know that it was 3.5 miles each way in the pouring rain to Morrisons.

Gone to far to turn around and I am wet now.

The beautiful West Coast.

... brake on the manual hire car consisted of a small button on the dashboard - and the car snuffed out very easily . We were lucky not to roll into one of the cars which insist on following so closely on slopes. Others were patient, if not confused, at our attempts to move off a round-about where it seemed we were going to stay - as we tried to work out the co-ordination of gears, the dashboard ...

Highland Drive and Arrival in Skye

Our day started by saying goodbye to the fine city of Glasgow. From Glasgow, we drove to Isle of Skye through the absolutely gorgeous Highlands. Before we got to the Highlands, we went through the Argyll Forest, which was beautiful, but very, VERY stressful due to the roads being so narrow and curvy with rocks sticking out leaving very little margin for error. For the first time, I was petrified driving.......The cars behind me were ...

Tales from the Golf

... in London. The weather had started to clear up and at the first sign of the temp climbing over 25 degrees the 'heat wave' news stories began began. Edinburgh was next up on the list and once we saw edinburgh castle and the royal mile in an afternoon we had had about enough of the town. So we headed to st andrews and a whiskey distillery for the next day, with the british open starting this week we had a ...
