... and Bridgehampton was interesting. Very quaint little villages with big houses (ok, more like mansions and estates), with very high-priced shops, including the consignment shops. The best deals were found at a wonderfully large roadside local produce market where we picked up some Concorde grapes, jet star and honey crisp apples, cranberry beans, butternut squash, and a multitude of hot peppers including a cherry bomb (supposed to be VERY ...
So, like clockwork Kim went and got the rental car, texted me he was on his way back. Myself and bags ( no nasty comments please) waiting at the curb. Here's the important part of the story....GPS wouldn't work so kim googled a route that had NO TOLLS. Took us 45 min to get out of NYC and on our way north to Woodbury commons...200 designer discount stores. We walked around NOT IMPRESSED. Kim got ...
I got on the road early this morning, wanting to have time in Mystic before I headed to my silent retreat at St. Edmunds Retreat Center on Enders Island. My first "must see" spot was Mystic Pizza, the restaurant that the movie of the same name was based on. I am not much of a pizza fan, but I must say their pizza was really good. It was a fun touristy spot and a good lunch. After that I headed to the Mystic Seaport to see what that was all about, but found it was just ...

- Back to sun again today!
- Moving day as we are heading through Rhode island to Mystic Connecticut. We make sure we gas up in Mass as I found a website of Avg Gas prices by state (actually will zoom down to towns) and it shows that Conn and Rhode Island are high and they are.. prices go up 40 cents a gallon at the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Arbor View House Bed & Breakfast and Spa East Marion
Stayed at Arbor View House B&B over Labor Day weekend. This place will be forever special to my fiancÚ and me. I can not begin to describe the awesome breakfasts that Veda cooks up every morning. Having brunch outside with great conversation in the serene North Fork setting is amazing. Veda and Wilfred are wonderful people that make sure that their guest's needs are taken care of. We stayed in the Champagne Suite which had its own bathroom. Both the room and bathroom was sparkling clean. We loved our stay and loved the area. Highly recommended!
My first, but not my last...
i've never been to a B&B before so I suggested it to my boyfriend who did some research and found Arbor View. I love the atmosphere but most importantly Veda and Wilfred were such wonderful people to be around. We spent the mornings eating breakfast together. Got to know the other guests as well and just shared many laughs together. I had such a wonderful and relaxing time and would definitely go back there again and again. This was where I got engaged!
Couldn't ask for a nicer place!
My fiance and I had such a pleasant and relaxful stay at the Arbor View House B&B. It was actually where he proposed to me, so I will forever remember the comforting home and incredible hosts! It is extremely quiet, has gorgeous foliage outside, and the food...WOW! I would recommend this location for anyone wishing to relax.
Spent a weekend at Arbor View House. We had never been to a Bed & Breakfast before. We had a free weekend without the kids & wanted to relax & do something a little different. We made a great choice! Wilfred & Veda made us feel like family. Breakfast turned into a special event that we enjoyed with our hosts and the other guests. The food and conversation were great and there was no rushing thru breakfast. We stayed in the Champagne Room. It was sparkling clean with the most comfortable bed. The North Fork area is great place to visit with lots to do (wineries, beach, boating, fishing, golf, farms) and the Arbor View House is a great place to stay for a great nights sleep and a leisurely delicious breakfast with fantastic hosts. We are planning another stay at Arbor View for the fall and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing weekend.
Eclectic Inn; Wonderful Hosts
Our first time visit to the North Fork of Long Island brought us to the delightful Arbor View Inn.
At the Arbor View, B&B stands for Bed and Brunch! The hosts cook up a wonderful meal of great dishes, not your typical breakfast fare. Veda and Wilfred are highly personable, share the meal with you, and take the conversation down a variety of paths. Plan on spending a very relaxing morning over breakfast.
The hosts take great pride in catering to their guests needs, steering you to great local restaurants.
The inn was quite comfortable. It was a short walk to a lake and the bay shore and a 15 minute drive to Greenport.
Christmas 2004 our daughter presented us with a gift to Arbor View B &B. We went May 2005. Pleasant drive from Nassau county, not to long to get there, all is well. Well, all got better! What a beautiful, immaculate house it is. The best of all is to have met Vida and Wilfred. We had a delicious banquet style breakfast. The physical need of nourishment, by candlelight was outstanding, but the conversation, the joy and laughter we shared with them nourished our heart and soul. We came home gave our daughter and family a big hug and thanks. Told them it was the best gift to have received and how thankful we were. Christmas 2005 we were surprised again with the same. WOW!!! We had hoped to go during the summer, unfortunately Joe was set back with health issues and it wasn't until October that we were able to get there. We arrived to a big hug and welcome by Wilfred. We missed Vida who was away taking care of her father at the time. We hope he is doing well. Wilfred is a wonderful person to have a conversation with. No matter what the topic; health, the woes of the world, anything at all. He is very knowledgeable on many subjects, a great listener and conversation flows easily. We missed Vida and hope to see both Vida and Wilfred next time. Carmen And Joe
Excellent - Super - Magnificant
are just a few of the adjectives to describe our experience at the Arbor View House Bed & Breakfast; from the hospitality, ambience, and food to the cleanliness.
We throughly enjoyed our stay. On a rating scale from 1-5, we give a rating of 10!!!!
P.S. Make sure you ask your host and hostess to point you in the right direction to take in the magnificent sunset. It was as breath taking as our experince with Wifred and Veda (owners).

Relax at the Arbor House
We visited the Arbor House July 28th-30th. and had a wonderful time. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Wilfred and Veda, and they put us right in a "relaxation mode". They served wonderful iced tea and tidbits. In the morning the conversation and the delicious food made for a wonderful start to the day. Both Veda and Wilfred are very knowledgable about the area, and directed us to the best sites, and places to eat. We totally enjoyed our experience, and will be visiting them again.
We have just returned from a three day weekend at the Arbor View House Bed & Breakfast Spa. The Room we stayed in the Zinfandel Room is well laid out with a four-poster bed that reminds me one my grandmother had with a ladder to get up to it. We had some many bouquets of flowers all over even in the bathroom. My wife and I travel all over the country and we try to stay at B&Bs whenever we can and find one, this is one of the nicest and cleanest ones we have stayed in. It has all of the amenities of a four star hotel, plush robes and slippers and even an flat screen LCD TV with a DVD player.
