On the NSW Nth Coast - a great part of the world

Well we're not home yet, but we are getting terribly close.

We left Tamworth this morning after defrosting the windscreen. There was a big and widespread frost this morning - I have no idea how regular this is for Tamworth, but in terms of the car - a cup of water dealt with the ice and allowed the wipers to do their bit. The boys sampled their first frost with a quick trot across the grass outside the motel - it probably had ...

Too old for Byron Bay!

Spent a lovely morning walking all around Hastings Point beach, which was just over the road from the Camp Site we stayed at last night. I then went to the toilet and on my trip back smelt the gange and decided I was going to investigate. Got talking to a dude from Israel and he said there was a Bonfire on the beach later and to come down. We got a couple of bottles and head down to the beach, first ones there the fire hadn't been lit yet. ...

It's a 'chasing the local wildlife' day!

Tuesday was a "Look at the wonderful wildlife!" day because yes, I have now seen charismatic megafauna in their natural habitat.

Rod and I set off on Tuesday morning and headed east to Coraki, but first stopping at an ancient aboriginal sacred ground where there was a ceremonial circle, preserved by the National Park Service. It's very overgrown, but we walked around the circle and saw how ...
