... Back on the high street we see the Cross Well standing in front of the Burgh Halls. We learrn that this well was made in 1807 by a one-handed stonemason and is an exact replica of a well dating from 1535. Another obscure and useless titbit of information for anyone who is into quizzes - there will be a test at the end :-) We return to camp to plan tomorrows trip into Edinburgh with suggested itineraries for the castle, royal mile, old town and new town, we may be busy ...

Today woke up and had a nice breaky before wandered into town. We walked through the main streets, past the castle then around and up the hill to the castle entrance. Here we toured the castle with dad and the guide book as our leader. It was very interesting with some parts of the castle dating back past the 13th century, and ...

No trip to Edinburgh is complete without a visit to Edinburgh Castle. We begun our trip of the Castle with a guided tour. The Scottish guide was at times hard to understand but it was a great way to get an overview of the history of the Castle. It is a beautiful castle on the hilltop in Edinburgh. The view of the city was beautiful. It wasn't hard to picture what it must have been like in the 1500s, watching for possible invasions. It was at ...
