    I can see Pendle hill and a couple of witches from my motorhome; the hill is real enough, unfortunately the witches are made from wood and are being used as road signs on the caravan site. As a teenager I read about the Pendle Witches and the story made a lasting impression on me but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I actually visited the town. I chose to return partially because I like the town and surrounding area ...

    07:45 and the rain woke us up bouncing off the roof. Jayne opened the window blinds to see a queue of people waiting to set up for a car boot. Blimey, fair play to them. By the time we had dressed and had breakfast the rain had stopped so we had a quick walk around the tat on display. After that we took off and stopped off in Windermere for a quick look around.     ... a music and fireworks extravaganza on!" Bugger! Plod on love, plod on. We finally saw signs for a site as we approached Garstang. Turned out to be a really nice site and as it was getting late by now we walked into town to find a pub to eat. If you are ever in Garstang, Lancashire, go to the Royal Oak Pub and have the homemade chicken and smoked ham pie. Lovely. ...
