... quiet. We have our own parking, comp breakfast, afternoon appies and wine and it's a lovely, spacious and nicely decorated room. Parking in this town is a marketable commodity and if your hotel can provide with parking, you have won the lottery. Did I mention the freshly baked ...

We'll see what the weather holds tomorrow, as we had planned some hikes but if it is like it was today we may have to revise. We are definitely seeing Hearst Castle, rain or ...

... was a certain familiar smell and sound that reminded me of SeaWorld (f*** SeaWorld)... upon looking closer, my dad realized that there were also seals and sea lions on the base of the rock! How exciting is that, live seals and sea lions! They smelled fishy and were rather noisy, but adorable and awesome. It was such a beautiful sight and I even took out my binoculars to view them more closely. What a treat that was. Within a short while ...

After a long drive up the Big Sur we got into Monterey late to find accommodation fully booked. It was Columbus Day long weekend, and we found Monterey was where Californians like to go on holiday! We finally found a little motel in Pacific Grove, about 10 mins down the road.
The next day we took the boys to the Aquarium, where Fed and Amadeo were fascinated by the large octopus, and Arrigo loved the wave room, where you sat in a glass panelled room and a wave ...
