    ... but this time go further than on surry. Head along fantastic road hugging coast and stop various times to see hump back whales blowing and breaching....spectacular. Manage about 6 miles with no complaints which made for a really nice ride. Go for lunch at wharf and have cod, prawn and callimari deep fried.     The Pacific Coast Hwy from San Francisco to Los Angeles is 400 miles of coastal beauty. In total it is about a 10 hour drive. We did the drive in 6 days:

    We decided to take a 3.5 hr trip out into the Pacific to look for Whales. Such an awesome trip and lots of Grey Whales, sea lions, dolphins, seals. Brilliant. Big rolling waves and most fantastic weather. Don't think Dawnie was too chuffed with the waves though. Poor thing feeling a little sick and cold to the bone! Great trip ...

    ... garlic ice cream!

    While driving just past Watsonville, there were acres and acres of berry farms, with Mexicans working in the fields. The smell of strawberries at one stage was delicious! We of course had the roof down on the car so the smell was intense.

    ... Asilomar Conference Centre to view first hand some of Julia Morgan designed buildings. They did not disappoint and the wonderful blend of stone and timber make these buildings unique and obviously enduring as they have been standing since about 1925. We were glad that we have seen these buildings.
