    This travel day was not as long as the previous two but seemed longer. We traveled close to 250 miles in 5 hours keeping pace with our average of 50 mph. The scenery from Mt. Shasta to Eugene changes constantly, first traveling out of the pine forest to hilly grassland chock full of eroded volcanic plugs, then through a mixed forest of juniper and scrub pine.
