... we were there I got a Junior Ranger program booklet. When we left we rode our bikes down to the ferry we needed to take to get to the island. When we got to Madeline Island We rode our bikes 7 mi. ( 11 km) to get to a beach. The ride was mostly going up and down hills. Fall arrived two weeks ahead of the calendar with wet, cold weather.

Zach ,Cindy's son, visited a week with his girlfriend Shari; she was a great sport roughing it here during some inclement rain plus catching, and eating, her first freshwater fish – a good-sized pike. Visited the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore where we saw a Bobcat crossing the road.

... lighthouse in the USA is Split Rock Lighthouse. This year was the 100 anniversary of the lighthouse. Very picturesque.

After all the hiking and sightseeing, we realized it was late afternoon and we had only traveled 60 miles!. So we purposed to ride to our destination. We zoomed south on Hwy 61 to Duluth. The wind picked up and it got cooler. Duluth was quite industrial as we rode thru, not very scenic. ...

Tuesday morning we took the truck and trailer to a car wash located at the RV park and washed them both. They were so dirty. We then drove up to Ashland WI which has a lack of RV parks. There is one in town and it was completely full. We drove out to the WalMart and discovered that they don't allow over night RV's! ...
