... four times in twenty years. Can you imagine!!!!! It was the belief in those days that too much washing was bad for your health. The same view was held at Hailes Abbey. Today we are finding out that too much cleanliness is a bad thing but we also know hygiene is vital. We climbed to the top of one of the towers up dimly lit and narrow spiral staircases. That was a bit nerve wracking but the view was well worth it. Descending was even ...

This morning after breakfast we opts to go for a walk along the ramparts of the city. The ramparts are stone walls built around the city in the 1300's during the papacy. They are almost 5km long. The city has since long grown outside of the walls so there are many entrances for both vehicles and pedestrians. We walked past the university then had lunch at a little cafe called L'Ubu. We also visited ...

... amp; Camie took us to visit a beautiful medieval village called Le Poet-Laval. Just before arriving we dropped into a goat cheese factory in Dieulefit that a friend of Sylvie owns. We had a full tour of the facility and then bought an array of goat cheeses to taste over dinner. Delicious and like nowhere else in the world! From Le Poet-Laval we walked up to the surrounding hills, it was very scenic, although the mistral was blowing. We had a great picnic lunch ...
