... at the idea of bringing it home. So we got on the Metro together at Abbesses for the last time and when she got off at Pigalle to go to Gard du Nord, I was really sad. ... months away. On Wednesday evening we went out to find a cafe for tea when we walked past a renovated building. It had an Australian flavour to it. The owner heard us talking and saw us looking in and he came out to ask if we were Australian. He was over the moon to discover we were and invited us in to have a look and give our opinion.

... only freaking people living in this building or at home at 7:30 pm??? Where are all the French people? Minor pangs of desperation and an dull vision (pun intended) of a night with no electricity started creeping in.

Carissa told me she'd seen a pay phone in town near the shops, perhaps i could go there and make the call. I load up on coins and change and head off. Its about a five minute walk and soon I found the pay phone. Success! ...

We ended up stopping up the road for lunch and I, of course, said bollocks to lunch and proceeded to climb over a fence and down the road to the castle!
