... a big boats wake and I got absolutely drenched on one side. LUCKILY for him the camera had been down at this time or there would have been hell to pay.

Hvar is pretty built up compared the other towns, but is still a really pretty, old, old town and also has a large fortress castle which sits at the top of the hill. We took a walk along the waterfront all the way around to the Hula Hula Bar, which is on the the next bay from the town so it ...

On another day we hired a scooter so we could explore the island and some of the other beaches (also with the hope that we could escape some of the crowds). ... road with our cases to the local band dodging the onslaught of traffic and tourists where we meet up with our driver Rafael at the local pharmacy. We headed off to Pompeii arriving at 11.45. Started off with themost interesting cappuccino we have had to date, it was served up in a clear plastic cup with 2 straws and it was as ghastly as it looked Pompeii was much bigger and older than any of us expected. Fascinating place lots of restoration ...

Today was another early start, to catch the ferry to the island of Hvar, but again the views made up for it.
Hvar is another beautiful island, and Hvar, where we were based was also lovely. Similar again to Korcula and Dubrovnik, but more glamorous with a more up-market marina, with some very nice yachts moored there. Hvar would become one of my favourite places on this trip, and certainly the ...
