... long walk and took us around 20 minutes as it was zagging up the hill and we didn't want to go off of the paths given our recent run ins with snakes. Once at the top, as with everything so far on the trip, it cost to get into the castle. So we paid the 30 kuna and had a lovely walk around, it was more than worth it. With rolling green hills as far as could be seen behind the castle and beautiful terracotta roofs surrounding the marina with the blue ...

The climb up to the fortress was along a wonderful garden ...

I had my first of many ice creams - started with white chocolate flavour and through the course of the 5 days tried a new flavour every day... You cannot be disappointed with the ice cream over here, it's delicious - possibly the best I've tasted! My first couple of days were quite chilled; I went to Bacvice beach which is the only ...

... the Hektorovic Palace construction that was started in 1463 but the family went bankrupt and it did not get a roof until 2012! This was after the archeologists had a field day digging inside before the restoration could be completed. Antony Gough is not alone with delays in building due to buried old stuff. Chch's old stuff is not quite as old as the old stuff in Hvar!
The tourist boom started in the 1970's & 80's when 10 hotels were built, when the war started ...
