... the car back on to road we gave up and just drove to San Martin. When we got there we found that one of the tyres on the hire car was very flat so the first thing we had to do was find a garage and work out the Spanish for “I need to pump up my tyre” - hopefully its not a slow puncture.

... are. We had booked dorm beds and were pleasantly surprised to be given a 4 bed (2 double bunks) dorm to ourselves with an en suite bathroom! Best value hostel to date. The staff were lovely and greeted us and wished us goodnight with big affectionate hugs. We managed a few conversations with pidgin Spanish English and all got the gist of things.
