... Michigan, Lake Huron. We stopped in Munising along the 28 Highway to get some things to cook for dinner then we carried on along side Lake Superior where we found a nice scenic spot with a table so we could cook our dinner. There was a bit of fog hanging over the lake but it was still a beautiful evening.. We stopped for about an hour ...

... would be there at 0730, so we waited! Good breakfast, but it put us quite a bit behind on time. While we were waiting, I was conversing with the old guy. Ends up he was a WWI veteran, an Army Air Corps officer and in the intelligence field. Very interesting guy. I shook his hand and thanked him for his service.

... all over town and didn't see much of interest. It looks like Ironwood is a dying town. The most exciting thing we found was the old train station. The Chamber of Commerce uses it for their offices, but that's about it. It's pretty sad. Today we crossed into the Central Time Zone. Just as we had finally gotten used to Eastern Time too. Tomorrow we're off the Duluth, MN. There is a very cool railroad museum there, so we expect to spend some time there before heading farther west. ...

Sept 10th-drove and drove and drove to western part of the Upper Penisula. Nice roads to drive on, not much traffic except for huge logging trucks. Drove to the Porcupine Mountains. Simply AWESOME. Lake of the Clouds just exquisite! One of the sweetest spots I've ever laid eyes on. Stopped on the southern boundary road-Jim said prettiest road he's ever been ...

... about an hour, and I was soaked. But as they say, you can only get so wet, so I rode another hour or so before stopping for breakfast. I soaked the chair and floor around me in the restaurant. It was a relatively short ride to the center from there, and I arrived here at 3pm. So here I sit, having taken over the entire bunkhouse by spreading my belongings all over the place to dry, leaving little room to walk.
