This RV park was situated on a high hill, and the lights of the city could be seen below. There was a smaller hill at the edge of the park that had been turned into a scenic overlook area. We were woken up early because it was Christmas morning. I went upstairs and saw what I had in my stocking. I got some lip balm, a scarf, a Starbucks card and some chocolates. Then after breakfast we went to open our other gifts, I got a magazine subscription, a hair straightener, a pandora bead and an iTunes voucher. Then I went on a walk with Mum ...
... etc. They were not big places, but were filled with condos and expensive hours, and the slopes looked wickedly steep. No place for skies like Phil and I that had trouble figuring out how to stop on a bunny slope in NW Iowa (yes, there actually are hills big enough to ski on in Iowa).

By then we were ready to head back to the RV Park. So we didn't complete the Lariat Loop Historic Byway but we had a great adventure.
When we got back to the RV Park, there was a neighbor who had bought some roasted chiles. The location they got them was about 17 miles away. A long way to go for chiles so we never made it.
