Muggy Day in Florence
... way in Florence with the number of tourists. One of the cool things though was stopping by the renowned gelateria Vivoli and we popped in to get gelato. Awesome as I didn't have to walk back again later. Had the strawberry and it was simply amazing. So Good!!!
Headed to the Boboli Gardens after, it was kinda neat with the sculptures but the paths aren't very well marked. That and a not so great map made it a little hard to find things. ...
Good Tuscan Dinner

The fit specimen of a human being that I am helped me to get there a couple of minutes before the train arrived (well done Mikes, you're the man!! :) )… and I was there to see G&J, luggage in tow, off the train … they were so happy to be back and looking forward to a couple of weeks vacationing in Tuscany.
We walked on through the station and met up with Mary… we then walked casually toward their hotel ...

... rooms (by European standards). Service was outstanding.
Our favorite day of this trip was the excursion to Cinque Terre! We would recommend everyone try aand take this excursion while visiting Florence. The scenery is sooo beautiful that we have made our photos into canvas prints that now hang on the walls in our home!
Also, other good side trips:Siena and San Gimignano! Both beautiful and unique!

Cinque Terre...A MUST SEE!
... would see all the way to the last town of Montorosso. It was an unbelievable view. The fist part of the hike, which was from Riomaggiore to Manarola was the shortest distance, and the easiest. It was a walk along the coast, but from up above the water, so you could look down and admire the clear blue of the Mediterranean sea. The farther we got, the more the scenery took my breath away. This walk from Riomaggiore to Manarola is called Via Dell' Amore, ...
Walking Florence
... are fairly plain. But the size of the enclosed space is quite awesome.
The Palazzo Medici Ricardi displays some very elegant rooms, a pretty little chapel, and a small garden. The wall paintings in the chapel seem to feature pretty boys, raising some interesting questions about the period.
