Got up at 0830 am, showered, dressed & down for breakfast. Headed off to Lynchburg & the Jack Daniel Distillery tour. Free tour was Great! & tour guide Jason was very good (retired firefighter) We walked into town after & had lunch at the a Iron Kettle restaurant. We went to the general store & bought some souvenirs. In another shop I found some sanuk sandals on sale so bought that & some Whiskey fudge. ...
What an awesome day and what a beautiful little county.. The Jack Daniels Factory Tour was absolutely awesome.. We were treated like VIPS all day.. A private tour and tastings of the Jack Family whiskeys.. Fantastic.. I've been converted.!! My favourite.. Jack Daniels with Honey, unbelievable.. Suddenly the tasting glass was empty.. Lol..
Then it's off to Miss Mary Bobo's for lunch.. Still part of the VIP ...
... and then you walk out the water rock floor (shelve) you are on top of the third fall drop off..so it is actually like one very spread out waterfall with three levels and we were on the second level.
... hill -A group in front of us made a wrong turn so we were accidentally ahead of them and we had to pull off and wait -Lorriane got a flat -A driver tried to scare riders by swerving into them across lanes -Lauren had to get vanned because her head was bothering her (she was concussed last week), and we had to wait for that. We waited at this place where we initially intended to eat, but it turned out to be really gross and smelly. We avoided throwing up by not eating ...
Then I got to the site, and if I wasn't on Cloud 9 already, I was launched so far up into the clouds as soon as I saw the gorgeous retreat center we were staying in - with BEDS!!! (Simple pleasures, people. That list has never been so large.) After a hot shower with no lines, I journaled on a rock face overlooking the TN valley below where the sun sailed behind the rolling peaks. It was...perfect. Absolutely..perfect.
