... ein paar Stunden am Strand in Byron Bay geblieben wären. Das Einzige, was hier echt sehenswert ist, sind die Leute! Jede Menge Freaks hier auf den Straßen! Teilweise musste man lachen, teilweise nur den Kopf schütteln! Our road trip is coming to an end, we are only a few hundred + km away from Brisbane ("ahh not far"). We have had two stop offs, one at Hervey Bay the place to go whale watching and Noosa.

... delights I had almost forgotten, like couches and refrigerators! One of them is keen on spear fishing, so I have been promised fresh fish straight out of the ocean for Saturday lunch! In other news, I am seriously considering going to England at the end of this year to do the English leg of the company's tour. With a British passport, I could travel to various parts of Europe at the same time, and this is a rather appealing idea...

... eine der nettesten Städte erwiesen. Für mich nach Sydney die netteste Stadt. Brisbane hat keine Strände in der Nähe dafür aber wie auch schon in Cairns kennengelernt eine nette und groß angelegte Lagune nahe des Flusses und nicht weit vom Zentrum weg. Am Abend habe ich dann noch Vanessa vom Flughafen abgeholt und nach dem Nachtleben haben wir dann die Nacht im Hostel verbracht. ... centre. For less than $15 (there were three seniors in the party) we got tickets to use all day on the river and in fact that's all we used apart from walking all day. We took the CityCat to the city centre, where we all did some shopping, before having lunch in the Myers Shopping Centre (to stay cool). After lunch we walked to the Botanical Gardens, which were also very cool and peaceful and full of native wildlife and trees, bushes and flowers. Next stop was the river ...

... up and wandered into the very heart of Queensland's capital city, and to a nice lunch spot I remembered called Anzac Park, which provided an oasis of greenery amongst the skyscrapers.



There's is a big foodcourt next to/under the square, so after looking at every type of food you could imagine, we plumped for some Malaysian laksa noodle soup. I finished formatting our latest mini ...
