    It was a beautiful drive to Ashland from Eugene, with a nice pic-nic stop at a rest area (Full Circle Creamery cheese from Kate & Brian, Crackers and fruit from Shelia & Larry, some cookies, salted almonds and a great view of the cherry blossoms). I made another stop in Medford for something at Fred Meyer and ended up getting a tube of lipstick (because... I accidentally walked down the lip gloss aisle). ...

    ... limited visibility due to smoke. And indeed the smoke became thick. It was easy to tell by the mountainous nature of the highway that we were in some beautiful country, but unfortunately our views were restricted by the heavy smoke. It went on for well over 50 miles.     ... they would have some...nope. There was a school bus full of immigrant workers and the place was packed and made me really uneasy. I drove all the way back to the RV (a 20 minute commute), and made some sandwiches for dinner and grabbed the sunblock.
