    ... particularly when we also had to pack our backpacks as overnight bags for the train trip tomorrow.

    Jonathan tossed vegetables, milk and that awful sweet cereal into the motel dumpster and in the end we left some dry food and tinned tuna on the motel room shelf with a note offering it to anyone who wanted it.

    The bed wasn't that comfy, with both of us doing our share of tossing and turning, but eventually we fell asleep with another chapter of our trip ...

    ... drive was beautiful.

    We stopped and had fresh fish at the Caboose Diner outside Ilwa. Delicious.

    This route also put us close to our second objective of the day in Astoria OR, the Columbia River Maritime Museum. This was a fascinating museum.
