When someone close to you goes away, what do you do? I mean nothing morbid by that. I'm talking about boot camp. One of my best friends shipped out to Parris Island last week and we agreed to be pen pals while she was away. As a writer, I’m thrilled to have someone to write to; I can finally use that ‘old-timey’ phrase:

A human must have the luxury of not being alive to be able to spend the time to fully appreciate all of the World and Life. All the living can do is try: love everything we can, learn what love is, learn to understand, and take in as much. That's what this blog is about, appreciating the big and the small moments of life. But we can't notice it all because we have to live. Now isn't that cruel.

We are very excited that on October 22 our grandson is scheduled to be delivered by c-section. After our return we will be flying to California to meet him and enjoy a visit with Kate (soon to be a big sister) and Seth and Ann Marie.

I will be updating my blog and sending a link when I can. Wifi may be very spotty so I don't know how often I can ...
