... on – so there you are.
At the longest of the four walks I headed out on the 2.5 mile round trip and had high expectations as the blurb said there were 700+ petroglyphs on view. It must be me – remember the pioneer names fiasco in Snow Canyon? – I just can't seem to locate these things. ... did those many years ago (well, maybe a couple of pounds heavier!). So now I'm sitting here at the President's club relaxing as much as one can with a group of New Yokas having a screaming conversation a few feet away.
Not traveling business class so I'll miss the pampering and good food. Hope I can get a few hours of sleep so as to be ready to hit the ground running upon arrival. We shall see.
... with Devon and John. By now, the idea of making it back to Atlanta by Thanksgiving was out of the question. I had stayed in Albuquerque a week longer then expected, but I never would have had the chance to make new friends and find the real beauty of New Mexico. A stark beauty that only reveals itself for short times throughout the day. If your paying attention, you can find beautiful things where you least expect.
... here. We stopped at the grocery store again to stock up (especially on sunscreen which I ran out of this morning!). The afternoon was spent playing at the house and just relaxing. We enjoyed talking and sharing old memories after the kids went to bed (and with 4 little ones under the age of 6, that was a rare moment!)
... the shapes with hot air and making them glow with colour. It is not perfectly simultaneous because the loudspeakers can't be heard across the whole field, but it spreads across in a wave as the balloonists take the cue from their neighbours. The glow continues for a few seconds, then the flames are powered down again - otherwise the balloons would lift clear off the ground. A couple of minutes later and the countdown starts again and again ...

Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States jaybrotzGood Friday to everyone! It was an early morning as we left at 5:00am to take Chris to the ABQ airport. The boys were great about getting up and getting dressed. We prayed together on the way to the airport...remembering the sacrifice Jesus made for us this day and thanking him. I was going to move the RV on to the Phoenix area while Chris was in Florida, but we've been meeting new friends and enjoying time together. We stopped for breakfast on the way home from the ...
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States thesteeles... age, not my age. That almost never happens now, and I don’t see it happening amongst my younger peers either, except for cross-sex hook-ups. I came back and visited again a few years later and found out that she’d been killed in a car wreck, right about the time there was a song of the same name all over the radio. Life’s weird.
