... around there all day I'd only get bored, tired and grumpy. As I left Channing made some comment that I was leaving already and that I wasn't even a part timer with hours like that to which I replied - don't I bloody know it. I justified myself also by saying I was coming back later to do the closing shift. I got home at about 12:45 and had some lunch. Whoever said that split shifts are rubbish and you can't get anything else done with your day was ...

Exciting Adventure Day!

A travel blog entry by heather_ireland on Jun 27, 2014

... did get a little lost once I got in Christchurch. It was dark by then and hard to see my map. It’s a good thing that I was there before because I remembered walking in the area I was lost and was able navigate my way to the place I was staying. We woke up relatively early and headed to town to the Crowne Plaza for their hotel breakfast. It was rather cloudy as we walked but it didn't look or feel like it was going to rain. We got the locals discount in there which was a bonus and they didn't even question it. I had taken a bill along with me to prove our address if need be. ...

Sam Summers Hut & Moke Lake

A travel blog entry by neil.scannell on May 24, 2014

... whom we were talking with this morning; apparently they took our advice on one of the tracks to do! Kyle and I made our way back to Sam Summers Hut by early afternoon. After freezing our buns off last night, we were going to have a fire and sleep warm tonight. We collected a ton of firewood, got a fire going immediately, and spent the evening relaxed in the hut. Raindrops dripped onto the hut roof and provided a soothing melody to fall asleep to. 5/23/14 BOOM! A ...
