Our favorite place

If you need to unwind, relax or just plain chill out, Amore is the place to stay. We have stayed twice now and will be back as soon as we have the chance. The service and hospitality is the best we have ever had. The breakfast is fantastic and the beds are so comfy you might never want to leave the room. The sound of the sea lapping upon the shore will lull you to sleep everynight. Denise and David are full of information, so if you want stuff to do, they can find it for you. Wonderful place to stay!

Not a good experience.

We had a 4 night stay at Amore, but it was anything but perfect.....the rooms are lovely but the hosts were not what we expected, there are rules rules rules...which are placed on your bed when it is made every morning......the atmosphere is a little intimidating and not relaxed, .....The breakfasts were supposed to be gourmet, but unfortunately not by any standard...... granola, fruit and pancakes....hardly gourmet.

Amore by the sea

A beautiful view and well appointed rooms. The owners are very detail oriented and handle your packages well as well as give detailed directions that are very accurate. David is very cordial and helpful to his guests. The only complaint I have is an unusual number of rules. No walking in the house with your shoes, no coffee before 8 am, don't be a late riser or you will not get breakfast which is served only at 8:30 sharp. No commons room or use of the hot tub after 10pm, and do not be even 10 minutes early of the 4 pm arrival time. I actually enjoyed the B&B, but for $270 anight, the owners could have been a little less worried about their house and a little more concerned about us.

Outstanding Service - With Attention to Detail

My wife and I just spent our 25th wedding anniversary at Amore. It could not have been better! David and Denise have thought of every detail eg. wine, chocolates in the rooms, slippers you get to take home, bath gels, romantic CD's, picnic baskets and blankets to take to the gardens on Sat. night for the fireworks, maps when you arrive (so you neve get lost!), and on and on. Our room was outstanding, very clean, comfortable, amazing views and best of all the large tub which was soooo relaxing! We enjoyed walking on the beach every morning before breakfast and watching the seals on the rocks. One of my favorite memoies was sitting in the hot tub which overlooks the ocean watching the otters play. The breakfast were outstanding and very healthy - with great conversation each morning. We love B&B's but Amore is our favorite. Thank you David and Denise for opening your home and hearts to the world. Keep up the wonderful work!

View was great, but......

I was there for my honeymoon and was looking forward to a "relaxing" romantic get-a-way with my new husband. There were many rules. No candles, no shoes, You had indoor slippers and outside sandals-You had to wear sandals (previously worn by others-but washed nightly) if you wanted to go to the spa room and hot tub, you had to make pre-arrangements or ring a bell for going into the pool but it had to be prior to 10 pm. There were blue towels for the rooms only and white towels for the spa area.

My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and was not impressed by the granola and fresh fruit for breakfast which was served only at 8:30am. The wine selection was non existant. We do not like Chardonay and asked David if we could exchange for a "different flavor" and were told that is what they bulk order for "that particular package and we could not exchange it.

This bed and breakfast is not accessible for the disabled or handicapped due to many stairs. This includes the 100 or more stairs to the beach.

The flowers that were part of our package were fragrant and pretty but I was not allowed to bring them across the border (not their fault- just customs)

Overall- other than the view it was a disappointment

Disappointment at Amore by the Sea

My husband and I were anxiously looking forward to our two night stay at Amore by the Sea, and ended up being very disappointed. We stayed June 2003, and unpon arrival we were greeted by the owner, who proved to be less than hospitable. We have stayed at dozens of B & Bs all over Europe, the US, and Canada, and have never been treated in such a manor. We were very put off by the long list of "rules", which made us feel like were were being treated like children "do not take our towels home", do not use bath gel in the shower, do not use lotion in bed, do not use jacuzzi tub in room after 10:30pm, if you check out after 11:00am, we will charge you extra", I could go on and on. The last straw came when I requested an iron and ironing board. I needed to iron clothes that I would be wearing the next moring, and ws told it would be in the reception area. When my husband went down that morning to get it, he was told that we could not iron anything in our room, in case we scorched the carpeting or bumped the walls while carrying the board to our room!!! I was in my robe and was not about to iron in front of everyone, so my husband had to go down and iron my clothes for me. It is a shame that the inn keepers are even in the B&B business. Their place is lovely, but they are lousy hosts. We felt very uncomfortable & certainly not welcome!!!
