We headed to Aspen early in the morning. It was our attempt to see some wildlife. Well the scenery was beautiful but we didn't see any wildlife. We stopped off at a scenic overlook of the San Juan mountains. In addition to the mountains we also seen the large reservoir. No real roads to get to the lake, you have to do some off roading.

We arrived in Aspen at about 11am. We visited the John Denver Sanctuary. As a kid, ...

Considering I was flying from Aspen and connecting in Chicago, I decided to go ahead and change my flight to Wednesday instead. Rather than call UAL, I went to airport to change my flight. I figured it would be quicker and in my experience in speaking with UAL customer service on the phone, less likely to have errors at the airport. There was a little bit of a line ...

February 2nd & 3rd we took the Amtrak California Zephyr from Denver to Glenwood Springs and back.  It has been something we have talked about for a long time and finally got to do.  The train travels through areas that are not accessible by car.  It winds its way up to the Continental Divide, through the Moffat Tunnel, ...

You thought our Alaska trip was a whirlwind adventure, listen to this. We arrived home August 5th, after a 1,400 mile drive from the Bellingham Washington's ferry terminal. We barely unloaded CC when it was time to leave for two weddings -- so much for "home-sweet-home." On August 8th, we drove to Davenport, Iowa for Judy's cousin's wedding; we returned home on August 12th only to leave (drive) for Huntington Beach California for the wedding of our ...

... weighs close to 40,000 lbs, is getting just under 6 miles per gal of diesel fuel. Pretty expensive given that diesel is $4.00/gal in the U.S. and higher in Canada ... too bad, less money for the children.

Good-bye friends and family -- we're off and running or is it chugging. Chug along with us on our travel blog.
