Hello From Auckland, David and I just arrived a few hours ago at David's friend Campbell in Auckland. Two days ago we found a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in a very small village called Waihi on the West coast of the North Island. The beautiful B&B was run by Val and her husband who also owned a garage in the next town. The B&B was meters away from the shore line. David and I were finally able to swim in New Zealand without freezing. The travel magazine we found said that Waihi was "on...
Auckland, New Zealand davidsmi... right turns and we were on a familiar road in minutes. It's actually very easy to navigate round this place once you have your bearings - a good job because there's no bloody signs!

This evening the city fathers have decide to have a light show in the harbour - I am not sure quite why, but as it's right outside the door we trotted along. Hell of a lot of people there and it was quite good really. Got a nice view of the light show on the old harbour ferry building.
There was only the 3 of us in our dorm though which was pretty good.

The following day we went across to Devonport which was a short ferry ride from Auckland. We had a wander around the town before walking up Mount Victoria and admiring the views across Auckland city. It was a nice day and we had a picnic at the summit. Celia wasn’t feeling to well so we went back to the hostel, grabbing an icecream on the way back for ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand celeea... Wellington airport for 4 hours waiting for them to decide if we could continue to Auckland or head back to the 'dead town' of Christchurch.

Finally we got airborne to discover we would indeed make it to Auckland. But our flight to Fiji must have passed us in the air as we came in to land. NOT IMPRESSED! Then to make matters worse, they opened the doors to let us off the plane and the 'air-tunnel bridge' got stuck so we sat on the plane for another 30 mins.
<br ...

Auckland, North Island, New Zealand nzbo... and my mouth was flapping more than a door in a windy barn!!!! At that point I wished I hadn't paid for a cameraman to film my most beautiful moment ha ha. Unfortunately I didn't realise but my poor husband falling before me was feeling sick the whole way down :-( But it is an amazing feeling and surprisingly it doesn't feel like one whole minute, it all goes so fast (no pun intended!!!) and next thing you know your parachute is open and your gliding to the ground ...

Auckland, North Island, New Zealand silvi1101... when I went in there was already this German guy there who'd been in there a week already, (he seems to have some kind of prejudice against Mexicans as well, he was telling me they are rich but stupid, very strange). You know considering they are supposed to have the same weather as us over here, I was roasting in the room, sweating like a pig, maybe its just the humidity though? Ok I'm knackered now so cant be bothered to write anymore lol, keep you posted, laterz.
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand adamchase... ferns to the lake; birds dart around: swallows, fantails, and the distinctive tui, black bird with little white ball on the neck. The weather was lovely and we went for a swim in the morning, and a boatride in the afternoon. Black swans on the lake including some cygnets, ducks of course, seagulls, shags. And were thoroughly lazy. David and the children went home that evening but we and Sue stayed and walked round the nearby Blue Lake on the way home.
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand uspearls... David that he is not allowed any more Beige checked shirts!! and I will not ever wear coral pink!!!!
