      - We had to stop for gas for the second time today in San Clemente.
      - Gas costed us $45.76
      - We also had to replenish on candy and ice. Candy was $13.57, and ice was $7.00
      - We decided to go to a nice dinner at a restaurant called The Shore, which costed me personally $40. The food was nice but I wished I didn't have to spend that much money for food.
      - Before heading to San Diego, we pull off to the side of the road and fall asleep in the ...

... but our GPS couldn't locate it. With all the traffic we decided to just venture on. We then visited a huge dealer out here called Bartel's and loaded up on t-shirts. Another thing they say be careful what you wish for... We have been cool most of the time and again the temperatures seem to change by like 20-30 degrees and it is hot down here, I did ...

As we continued north we made it into the Orange County and found ourselves at Laguna Beach. We had researched the Crystal Cove State Park for our next camp spot and luckily they had one area left for us. $12 a night each. We were on a cliff top over looking the ocean, and behind us were rolling canyonlands with lots of hiking tracks. Happy days! Once we had set up, I went for a run/walk through the bottom and up onto the edge of the canyons and checked out the beach. In the morning we ...

... br> .....HB Triathlon "postponed" due to the storm we just had. Lots of big waves and strong winds made the ocean unsafe for the swim. Since the run was along the shoreline, the run was cancelled as well. The city hopes to reschedule the race for sometime in June, but we won't be here. They told Mike that if he couldn't make it then that they would give him credit towards his next race ...

Depart LAX via American Airlines to Miami with connecting flight to San Jose, Costa Rica.

Arrive 9:20 pm with driver waiting to take us to Autentico Hotel - San Jose. Our guide Guillermo "Memo" Arrieta Webb surprised John with a birthday card and piece of birthday cake! John and I shared it and called it dinner!

The adventure is outlined on the map, focused on cloud forests and rainforests. The Pacific and Caribbean coasts were not the focus of this trip.
