Left Heathfield this morning and drove Michelle and Grace to Heathrow, dropped them off at the Holiday Inn on the M4 and said our farewells.

Our next stop was Cheryl's cousin, Sandra's place in Lodsworth near Petworth,Sussex. On arrival we had a quick coffee and after went to a nearby pub for lunch. After lunch ...

... where we visited a tea shop and also St Mary's Church which dates back to about 1190. Unfortunately, we just missed a ceremony celebrating the opening of the Michaelmas Term of the High Court in Stafford. Easily the most private setting we've stayed at with only two or three caravans/motorhomes in sight. But too many trees for the satellite dish so no Midsomer Murders . . . what a relief. But wait a while, dear reader, there is more . . .

... Hard to believe that this home was actively used for almost 400 years!! The guide inside this cottage was so enrapturing, we hardly moved but for listening to her for about 35 minutes inside the very first room. We ventured through the gardens, admired the romance that might've been by the inventor of English romance literature, and jumped back in the car for part 2 of our English countryside adventure.
