... store that Tom had discovered the week before. Lunch was at Emerald Lake which was a gorgeous place except for the 40 000 bees and the 30 Aussies that arrived on their Scenic tour.
This drive took us through Glacier National Park and Mt Revelstoke National Park. It was beautiful countryside, steep Rocky Mountains and thick forests. We made a few stops and walked some board walks and arrived at the Lamplighter Campground at about 5pm.

... made it back to the car, and by this time we heard on the radio that the Rogers pass was open again, albeit with a lot of congestion.
We headed off, and made it back to Banff by 11.30, about 7 hours later than we had scheduled. Poor Anna bad to get up the next morning for work, at 6.00am.
We found our seventh place of residence for this trip, the Banff Centre, very comfortable room. Bit hungry as only snacked on the way home, but too tired and late to eat.
... way down and in town. So nice sitting in the sun in the afternoon - first time we have needed our sunglasses in Revelstoke!!
13 Feb - 6cm fresh powder! Antony and Chase both had work so I was by myself. Fresh tracks through north bowl and great runs through Ripper trees.
14 Feb - Day #17 Up the mountain with Chase. All the powder was tracked out, but still good through Ripper trees.

... take a few photos. Tonight's stop was the town of Revelstoke & in our usual style we hadn't booked a hotel so it was wifi hunting. There was a Tim Hortons at the petrol station so it was mocha & wifi time. After a bit of searching we found the Ol Frontier Motel which was reasonable & had ok reviews. After getting directions we drove to the motel. The office was shut so we had to check in at a petrol station, here we were greeted by a hill billy type with long hair, ...
... condition is quite amazing. There is some great interpretive signs and loads of interesting notes all round so well worth the visit and time we spent there. All we had left to do after this was to get a takeaway coffee from Evelyns (one for the road) and then head off towards Revelstoke. Today we gained an hour back so by getting out of bed at 8am it was really 7am hahaaa. A perfect morning with just a light frost and temperature on the rise finally topping around 20 degrees ...
