Winter Park is a large ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, just a 2 hour train ride from Denver. The train makes it easy to get to and you can stay in the town of Fraser or at the resort itself (15 minutes up the road). Fraser is much cheaper than staying at the resort and with a free shuttle on the half hour both are good options. We walked for a few hours around the base of the flatirons with the dogs (I was happy with this because I didn't have to touch them) and then had brunch in the Colorado Chautauqua, an interesting place close by which used to be home to Texan teachers during summer. After brunch we went back to the house and I read a newspaper article of wind turbine which is obviously ...

... they have decorated them with fairylights and at night it is just like fairyland. Boulder is a very busy city but still has a country feel. Sits at the base of the rockies with very good outdoor activities. Everyone rides pushbikes. There are bike racks all over the main retail area, you just insert your credit card and it releases a bike. Go for a ride and take back to ...
