... made a stop at the oldest hotel in Denver, The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa. They serve High Tea in the afternoon there and we observed some special gatherings. Winter Park is a large ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, just a 2 hour train ride from Denver. The train makes it easy to get to and you can stay in the town of Fraser or at the resort itself (15 minutes up the road). Fraser is much cheaper than staying at the resort and with a free shuttle on the half hour both are good options. Great for beginners, Winter park has lots of green (beginners) and blue (intermediate) ski slopes. However the ...

The Auditorium is still used today and a series of lectures, live musical performances and silent films are held throughout the year. The Dining Hall is now a restaurant. The cottages are also available for rental.

One of the first things I noticed is how quiet it was. Even though we were surrounded by numerous other cyclists there was not a lot of conversation taking place.
