... And it cost around $1.20! Me and Alison then took a cab to see the Grand Palace. Entry was pretty steep (400 baht), but it was well worth it. The palace area had many different buildings that were all very ornately decorated. You couldn't go into any of them, but we still felt like we got our money's worth. Big waterfalls and friendly locals
... it continues to build up until theres huge ice bergs which the water has to cut through as it comes down. Its impressive just the sheer amount of water that contently flows over and never stops its a continual roar. An amazing thing to see, and the ice is a great thing to play on turning everyone into kids skating around and throwing bits of ice to the tops of trees to start a cascade of ice from the spindly branches.

Winnie the Peg
... like so off I go. Oh...my...god...this film is fantastic! I guess it ticks a lot of buttons for me - period drama, great acting, difficult subject matter, great cinematography - but I knew nothing of the story and it kept me spellbound the entire time (quite an achievement for this committed cinephile). If you get a chance to see this film, I highly recommend it...particularly on the big screen.
