... sellers were doing a roaring trade. You could also buy a cloak to cover yourself from the ticket seller. One lady in particular was hilarious. She had on a dress, just a drawstring wasted thing, with full sleeves, and came to about mid-thigh. I didn't think she looked too bad, but the door police were having none of it... and she kept pulling the dress down to try and reach the two finger limit. At one stage there she actually bent her back down so she was ...

... in the town square, on the sides of roads and under hotels. All very charming.
After a morning coffee, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta. Later that afternoon we went for a walk about the streets near our hotel, and then ate a good Italian meal at a local restaurant. Off to Milan tomorrow and then Verona. Liking Italy more and ...

We wander the narrow lanes and pop into Ristorante Vittoria in a narrow alleyway some ...

... been badly damaged by WW2 bombing in the past and there is concern for the structures as well as the actual painting.

The painting is situated on the wall of the dining hall in the Santa Marie della Grazie monastery. On first impression we were amazed by the size (approx 4.5m x 9m), as had always assumed it to be a lot smaller. For some unknown reason in 1652, a doorway was cut into the bottom of the painting. This has removed the legs of ...

... of our tickets (only says to print one) so we had to run to the ticket office and ask if they could photo copy it (costing us a nice €2). The bus trip took forever but the scenery of Switzerland was incredible! So so beautiful as we had to drive through one of the passes through the mountains. Finally we arrived on Milan, 8km from central station where we thought we were getting dropped off at, so a few of us decided to ...
