After realising that time was now getting short we then rushed down to the stairs, caught the metro back the 4 stops to the Hotel Maddison and walked to 300m to the train station - that's why we booked accommodation close to the station! The central train station apparently resembles New York's Grand Central Station. All I knew about Milan coming in was that it was/is a fashion hub. Boy, was that accurate.
