Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

... the same question. Well with partners in crime... Why not?? We climbed the fence and absolutely enjoyed the path that we had entirely to ourselves. There was a bit of a landslide that we had to traverse, but definitely nothing life threatening. We didn't even encounter any trail police! We spent a lot of time down on the rocks enjoying the spray from the ocean. The fall weather was enticing, and the plethora of color in the trees was breathtaking. I very ...

... it to the house. Most of the ground floor contained statues and busts many being the work of Canova. The upper floor had furnishings but we were told no photography but to our chagrin many of the general.public was going through snapping in each room. We then walked around the extensive gardens for an hour or so till our boat was due. From here we went on to Lenno for a lunch break where most of us sat in cafes along ...

... That trail started out nice and friendly, but it ended up feeling like we were literally scaling down the side of a mountain at different points. Just what you want to do before lunch and a boat ride. However, I did find it preferable to the other 'rocky road.' Amy was like, 'Really, you were basically almost on all fours half of the time, you preferred that?' I started laughing and thought, actually I prefer neither. Next time, I will be sure to book a room in town and not ...

... data on our phones which makes it a bit harder for us but we found it. This one was just a small one with a log which we filled out and set off for the second. The second one turned out to be quite a hunt and even with the clue we weren't able to find it. Sadly sometimes the ones in public areas get taken, especially if someone spots people putting it somewhere they may walk over after they have left and pick it up. We decided ...
