      ... couple of kilometres from here). Exhausted we make our way back down, gelato to power up, ferry back to home and cook up dinner.
      Today we are back on the ferry to Como, walk along the foreshore to check out some large villas on the west side - now all owned by the Como Provincial Government, then onto the 'fast boat' and up to Menaggio which is midway north up the lake.       We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

      ... It ended up being a winding road up the mountain curving around the entire thing. What we thought would take about 10 minutes, probably took a half an hour. However, we finally arrived at the castle, which was beautiful and had amazing views as well.

      ... train if it wasn't for him as it was so chaotic and confusing! Then we train it to Lake Como and realised we could have organised free shuttle from the station to the hotel. The boat was a long way away and all down hill we didn't want to lug our bags so we were going to have to bus it so john brought tickets, there wasn't a taxi in sight.
