Writing from the Crescent, the train from New Orleans to New York, just outside of Atlanta. Bourbon street was insane: people of all ages, races and sports team affiliations drinking open containers in the streets on a Sunday night. The police are as much of a tourist attraction as the strip clubs, and will let you pet their horses and take pictures with them. We started out with a couple of hurricanes (a local cocktail of rum and passion fruit juice) at Pat ...

We started our day with Linda's breakfast of angel food cake topped with cream cheese and peaches. It was very good. There is a fog outside. Initially, we looked at the exhibits in the Visitors' Center. Ranger Don explained about ...

We saw a house that survived Sherman's march. It has columns and a rolling front yard just like you've seen in movies. The town of Euharlee is almost exactly like it was during the Civil War...many original buildings and cemetaries - such as one for ...

Day 8 - Driving from Bristol to Villa Rica

A travel blog entry by springramble on Mar 18, 2013

Today was a driving day. Before we left Bristol, Dan went to a liquor store and was able to buy some local Moonshine. They were giving away free samples when we were in there a couple of days ago and it was actually pretty good! We left Bristol about 10 this morning and headed south. It rained most of the day and sometimes it was so heavy you could hardly see the road. As we went south, we could see more signs of spring - greener grass, ...
