Then we drove across a bridge an island and a causeway to reach Great Wass Island Preserve looking for a walk but as they all seemed to be through pine forest to the sea, instead of by the sea, we gave up on that and headed out to Mt Desert Island, Bar Harbour and Acadia National Park - a gift from the Rockefellers and other wealthy folks to the nation. ...
Bangor Maine to Lincoln Maine
Left Bar Harbor after lunch on Saturday, and drove I-95 from Bangor to Lincoln, where we turned east on Hwy 6 to the Canadian border at Vanceboro.
The Fall colors are really starting to show off their brilliance the further north we go, and Hwy 6 was an especially gorgeous and scenic drive all the way to the border.
