Edmonton is a great place to live during the late spring, the summer and the early fall. With a metropolitan population of over 1.1 million, Edmonton has much to offer for a fan of almost any type of sport. However, while this winter wonderland of the NHL Oilers, the CFL Eskimos, the CIS University of Alberta Golden Bears, the WHL Oil Kings, the NLA Rush and numerous metro based AJHL/ ACAC hockey teams thrives during the months of October through March, Edmonton does not have baseball.

... a crazy snow storm! I couldn't see beyond my windshield for awhile there but I kept going. It's more dangerous to stop as no one can see you. I had to turn on the fog lights and the emergency lights to create more visibility for other drivers to see me. When I reached Red Deer, everything stopped. There was no rain or storm.

So this little blog is the start to a great journey. A week tomorrow I will be heading to Calgary to meet up with my best friend Theresa.

On Wednesday we will board a plan enroute to Anchorage Alaska.

It's a place of incredible beauty and if the pictures are half as amazing as the actual place is, I might just cry a little.

... So frustrating....this is our luck when it comes to organising stuff like this. In the end it all worked out. Nice little car too. We filled up the car with petrol and picked up dinner at Barpa Bill's (lamb souvlaki and poutine - yummy and so much garlic) before heading home and having an early one as tomorrow we had a long drive ahead of us.

Well, its 4:30 am. Sitting in the airport past security. Waiting to board the plane. Today started out early, getting up at 1:30am.

Left the house by 2, at the park and fly by 2:30. stepped in snow up to my knee to plug the truck in, and get the snow down a little bit for Stacie and Granny. Waited outside (-34) for the bus with grandpa, while the ladies waited inside. Whos the smart ones there, right?
