- The weather in the mountains can indeed change very quickly, and doesn't necessarily match the sunshine forecast 4 days earlier.
- Trails can look very different. If mountain bikes are not allowed they are likely to be narrow and difficult.
- Our shoes are brilliant and are a real godsend on muddy trails.

... Lake Louise area, we were fixin' to head for home. However, it was only about 3:30, and we knew if we came home this early, the sofa surfers would be back on their computers wasting time. The weather had favorably changed, so we decided to take a drive to Lake Miniwanker, a lake just adjacent to Banff. It's the only lake that allows motorized vehicles, so we were sure to see something cool.

The flight to Calgary was 4 hours and we found ourselves at a delightful airport where all the luggage carousels were decorated with Canadian scenes. There were also some beautiful bronze sculptures in the building. We had to wait for the scheduled coach to take us to Banff so decided that we would get a spot of lunch as we were able to leave the luggage.
