So we returned to the original plan of driving down Highway 93 to Radium Hot Springs. On the way we stopped off at the Paint Pots which were a series of clay based pools that descended from brown ochre into green int he middle. The Best Mountain Scenery Ever!
... took a small back road back to our campground and saw a lot of neat wildlife. So far we have seen black bears, caribou, elk, a wolf, marmots, and a few squirrel road kills.
We didn't get back to our campground 'till after 1:00 AM because we were looking for wildlife. A great time.

Last Day
... ladies eating as well. We had seen them on the paint pots trail on our way back to the parking area. They had seen how muddy we had gotten and were questioning continuing. We spoke a bit and they asked why we chose this time to vacation here. I said that we had done summer and it was fabulous but that the fringe season offers many unique things other than just better rates…I relayed the avalanche story to them and they were just amazed. ...
