... were giving me size envy, and I realized my little point and shoot camera was no match for the vast Alaskan landscapes ahead.

At Wonder Lake, a 5 - 6 hours bus ride into the park on unpaved roads, were several campsites with tents pitched and backpackers setting out through the light drizzle of rain. We hiked around the tundra, which was full of early Autumn color, and picked wild blueberries.

They can each carry more than their weight but they take pains not to overload them.
