... can’t go right up to the face of the glacier because it has receded so much over the past 30 years in particular and there is the lake in front of it. It is a mile across the face. There were a number of different size icebergs floating in the lake. The edge of the glacier showed many crevasses and it was such a beautiful icy blue colour in it. ... excited to hear that there is a much higher proportion of males to females here but it is common knowledge that "although the odds are good, the goods are odd"!!! They feed here for about six months, putting on weight before heading back to Hawaii to calf.
