... breakfast we noticed a mass exodus of people heading down to the river, so we followed them. Denali was out again and everyone was flocking to the river to see her. We walked for awhile and then drove up to the Talkeetna Lodge planning on hiking some of their trails. Unfortunately they have had a moose and a grizzly on their property recently and advised people not to take the trails into the woods. Denali was still out and their viewing deck was packed. We chatted ...

We continued our journey north on the Ric******* Highway, absolutely nothing along this stretch except the Alaskan pipeline. So happy when we arrived in the small town of Glennallen. Jeff stopped for gas, even though we didn't need it, we knew gas stations were far & few.

Now we would be heading west ...

Seeing Denali

We woke up this morning to no rain and pretty blue skies. We wanted to walk into Talkeetna but the host at our campsite recommended that we go look for Denali if we wanted a chance to see her. So we started driving up to the Talkeetna Lodge. On the way we pulled over at a lookout point and there she was! Seeing photos of her does not do her justice at all. It is a magnificent sight! People were pulling over like moths to a flame. We ...
