I slept good and woke to blue skies. Finally! D.P. took us to several lookout spots to take pictures of Denali (Mt. McKinley) before he left us to return to work in Healy. Only 30% of the visitors to Alaska ever get a chance to see the "great one" out of the clouds so we were feeling pretty lucky. ... participate in a mountaineering class. We get to land here to drop them off. The weather holds for us but we need to skirt a rain cell as we go in. The views improve as we go. It is so nice to be back in the range. I have several hundred hours flying in fixed wing or helicopter while I worked here as the South District ranger for Denali. I was responsible for the mountaineering program here which involved search and rescue responsibilities. ...
