... grass and relax, perhaps take a nap (I couldn't resist the temptation myself!) I have no idea how I would have felt about the city if it were it's "normal" weather of gray skies and off-and-on rain showers, I couldn't even imagine missing out on the spotless views of the city from Arthur's Seat (which I highly recommend)...I just found it so refreshing to feel so connected to nature in such a modern ...

As I didn't fancy [see that English slang already!!!] being alone for Christmas, I decided to book myself on a Christmas tour. Google through out a couple of options for me. Paris, Scotland and Czech Republic were the top choices. I decided on Scotland. ... a steep admission fee so visitors can tour it. We decided not to pay the fee and opted instead for a hike up to “King Arthurs Seat”. Not sure why it is called this but it sits on the vent of the same volcano where the castle sits and yields great views of the city (250m high).

... we had missed it, a man on a quad bike came down the road and told us – in a thick as thick Scotts accent – to stop and wait. And there they were, at least 50 riders all out in the poring rain (as they had been for the last 4 hours).
