    ... the vaporetto (water buses). We considered flying instead but this went via Frankfurt or Dusseldorf and didn't save much time and was lots more expensive. Just a long and tiring travel day but we successfully arrived in Venice and walled out the door of the railway station. Michael said "wow, there is the Grand canal" right there in front of us.     ... lunch - steep gully ploughed fields and lots undulations - very steep and fast downhills - all on sealed roads though which was a relief. There were 2 American couples travelling the other direction on one of the very steep downhills - they were heading uphill hill - one guy was pushing 2 bikes - reminded me of the many times I have done my lolly with hills and Ed has pushed both bikes or pushed me as he has been riding.     ... and conveniently Luca and Brodie both fell asleep. We arrived in Florence at 4.30pm and met up with Daniela who had gone by train to Florence for the day to catch up with some friends.     ... we could not find him anywhere. Brodie couldnt remember where he had taken him, I was not around most of the day, and Paul couldn't remember seeing him after he was sitting on the table at breakfast with us. Oh oh.     ... ahead of us in the line next to John Rubino, and even though Nic crossed his arms as instructed, and John tried to stop it- the bread was put in Nics mouth !!!!
